How We Handle Deliveries From Brits
Most orders are prepared from our Brits base and booked according to the kit size, route and site requirements. Smaller filtration items can often move faster, while full borehole or tank kits need more planning because pumps, tanks, pipework and fittings are packed together and checked before dispatch.
Lead times depend on stock, destination and whether installation support is included. For delivery to Pretoria, Hartbeespoort, Rustenburg and nearby towns, we usually plan shorter road runs. For Bloemfontein and the Western Cape, we allow extra time for route planning, load planning and delivery slots at the receiving address.
Where We Deliver Across South Africa
We supply and deliver to homes, smallholdings, farms and commercial sites across South Africa. Our common delivery areas include Brits, Pretoria, Hartbeespoort, Rustenburg, Bloemfontein, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Somerset West, with wider national delivery arranged where access and freight conditions allow.
- Urban homes and townhouses with limited access
- Smallholdings, farms and agricultural operations
- Guesthouses, workshops and municipal compliant storage sites
- Coastal properties where corrosion and humidity need proper packaging
If your site is outside these areas, send the location through the enquiry form and we will confirm if a direct run or courier delivery is the better option. Remote farms often need extra time for road conditions, gate access and off-grid receiving points.
What Happens Before Dispatch
Before any kit leaves our side, we confirm the items, pipe sizes, fittings and accessories so the delivery matches the system design. That matters for borehole and rain-tank work because a missing reducer or valve can delay commissioning by a full day, especially if the site is far from town.
Our team may also check whether the receiving point has space for unloading and whether any lifting gear is needed. Ntombizodwa and Kabelo coordinate the planning side, while Zander and Morne confirm technical details where the order includes pumps or filtration stages. It keeps the handover cleaner and saves time on site.
- Order checked against the quote and site requirements
- Delivery route planned around load-shedding, traffic and road conditions
- Kit grouped for easier offloading and installation support
- Receiving instructions shared before the truck arrives
Access Needs For Large Water Components
Many of our products are bulky or awkward to move. Water tanks, long pipe runs and assembled frames need clear access, enough height for gates and a firm surface for offloading. If the driveway is soft sand, steep, or narrow, tell us in advance so we can plan the vehicle and manpower properly.
For farms, we often need details on gate width, turning space and the distance from the entrance to the final drop point. On coastal properties near Stellenbosch or Somerset West, salt in the air can affect metal components if they are left exposed, so we always recommend immediate unpacking and storage under cover.
- Measure gate width and any low overhangs
- Confirm if the truck can turn on site
- Keep the unloading area clear of livestock, cars and loose stones
- Have someone available to sign for the delivery
Receiving Your Order Without Delays
Please inspect the delivery while the driver is still there, especially if the order includes tanks, pumps or glass filter housings. Check for visible damage, confirm the item count and note anything unusual straight away. That helps us resolve issues faster and avoids confusion later on.
If your site is not ready, tell us before the truck leaves Brits. A delayed receiving point can cause extra storage costs or a second trip, particularly on long-distance routes. For rainy seasons and dusty farm roads, it helps to have a dry, level space ready before the delivery date so the components stay clean and easy to handle.
- Count boxes and compare them to the delivery note
- Look for cracked fittings, bent brackets or dented tanks
- Keep the packaging until the system is installed
- Report any issue through the enquiry form as soon as possible
After Delivery: Support For Installation And Maintenance
Getting the kit to site is only part of what we handle. We also support installation, commissioning checks, tank cleaning, filter changes, pump servicing, fault finding and annual maintenance, so your kit can keep working after it reaches site. For households, that might mean getting a rain system ready before the dry months. For farms, it may mean making sure water stays available during load-shedding or low borehole recovery periods.
If your order includes commissioning support, we confirm that the system is assembled correctly, primed where needed and ready for use. We can also help with water testing and practical advice on maintenance intervals, which is especially useful in hard-water areas and on properties that draw from more than one source.
Hydrated is based in Brits, North West. Pieter Johannes van der Merwe leads the business with support from a local team that understands both domestic and agricultural delivery needs, from the first enquiry to final handover.
